Horse riding lessons

Horse riding lessons for beginners?  Dressage coaching for seasoned horse riders?  Whether you’re thinking of booking your first beginner horse riding lesson, or want to sharpen up your Showjumping, we’re centrally located in Perthshire, Scotland.  And we’re well placed to help.

Whatever your age or ability, we’ve a selection of well-mannered horses and ponies to suit your needs perfectly.   And our qualified and experienced team of instructors will give you the guidance, encouragement and confidence to help you take your horse riding to the next level.

First time horse riding?

If you’re new to horse riding, a half hour group riding lesson is just the ticket.  To start, you’ll be taught the basics (mounting, dismounting, walking, turning, stopping), working towards rising trot and beyond.  We offer group horse riding lessons for adults and children, and take care to match up riders of a similar level, so that each rider gets the most from their session as they’re learning to ride, or looking to improve.

Experienced rider and want to improve?

We also offer half hour or hour riding lessons for improvers and experienced riders, tailoring each session to the needs of the riders.  This could include flatwork and dressage, showjumping and working hunter or a session on our cross-country training course.  We offer after school riding clubs and coaching for university riding teams too.

We can arrange private riding lessons on request too– either on one of our horses, or on your own.

Thinking of learning to ride as summer holiday activity?  You’ll love a lesson in the fresh air of our floodlit 20m x 40m outdoor arena.  And best of all, we’ve an indoor riding arena too (22m x 44m), where you can ride and stay warm as toast, whatever the weather.

You don’t need to be fully kitted up in the latest equestrian wear to join us for a riding lesson. Safety standard riding hats and body protectors (compulsory for under 16s) are provided for all riders along with safety stirrups and body protectors too, upon request. Our safety stirrups mean you can ride flat shoes with a small heel. Long trousers (jeans, leggings or tracksuit bottoms) are fine. Remember to take off all jewellery.
